The looming question

The weekends are very laid back, not a structured outline for each day as the week days are. So there is always the looming question, the What’s for dinner? Question. Oh boy, what a question it is.

Everybody in this house is very loud and opinionated and love to voice their thoughts, but when it come to thee question I always hear I don’t know! But let me make a suggestion and everyone says eeeewww or no way!

So as I sit here this evening, that dark cloud is over my head again….humm…where should we go for dinner tonight?

Same question at my house…oh, how I dread it. I can certainly relate to this slice. Slice…hmmm, pizza it is!

That’s “What for dinner?” question casts a long, dark shadow in our house too! It’s amazing how difficult it can be to manage a dinner that satisfies everyone. Thanks for sharing but now you have me wondering….what’s for dinner here?

  3. I think this must be true everywhere! That’s the question I have right now, in fact!

Oh, this sounds so familiar! But tonight i am cooking Sticky Chinese Chicken, a recipe I found in a magazine a long time ago. It’s my daughter’s favorite and never gets the dreaded ewww…no.

I have avoided that very conversation with my 87 year old mom who lives with me. I’d rather get leftovers out or just do what I want in the kitchen than have the nose-wrinkling and shrugging “I dunno.” A real slice of life post. Thanks!

Funny you should ask. We went out to dinner last night, so I feel that I should cook something tonight, but. I don’t want to, not at all. So…where should we go to dinner tonight?! I vote pizza.

Years ago I wrote about that very same topic, it really annoys me. So I decided that I no longer told what was for dinner. If I’m the only one deciding, you will just be surprised when you get to the table. I hate making the decision of what to eat.

  8. I hate, hate, hate having to figure out dinner plans. Sundays are the worst because I go grocery shopping and I have to sit there and think about what I’m going to make for the week. Terrible! I didn’t even eat dinner tonight. I fed Lily and now I’m up here reading. I couldn’t even try to think about what to order/make/eat tonight!

Oh the dreaded question!!! Thankfully I’m single and don’t have any kids so I don’t have to deal with that quite yet…unless it’s the question I’m asking myself!

My rule, you say “no”, then you must suggest something!

That is definitely THE question! Then when we decide to go out to eat, it’s WHERE? Same problem with that one!
